Course Description

This training course is designed to refresh the skills and knowledge of Banksmen/Spotters responsible for safely directing the movement of vehicles and suspended loads on work sites. As a Banksman or Spotter, your role involves ensuring safe vehicle maneuvers, planning traffic systems, and effectively communicating with drivers and crane operators. The course aims to update participants on current HSE guidelines and industry codes of practice, enabling them to assist in vehicle movement with a focus on safety and risk reduction. Course content includes both theoretical and practical components such as the responsibilities of drivers and banksmen, identifying hazards and control measures, improving situational awareness, conducting point-of-work risk assessments, selecting appropriate PPE, and ensuring effective communication. Additional focus areas include planning vehicle and load movements, managing reversing operations, guiding vehicles in restricted areas, and understanding the expectations of banksmen when handling suspended loads.
